Ripping Chain

A ripping chain is a special type of chainsaw chain designed specifically for planking when cutting along the wood grain, not across it. This is mainly used in chainsaw milling, where you turn logs into planks, slabs, beams and boards.

•   Oregon ripping chains are manufactured to 10° for smoother cutting, a cleaner finish, reduced vibration and less snagging.

Ripping chains use semi-chisel or micro-chisel cutters with rounded corners to help the chain stay sharper for longer and easier to maintain.

•   More control & less aggression from a ripping chain for reduced risk of the saw bogging down and lower temperatures resulting in longer bar and chain life.
